Al-hamdu lillah. Indeed, all praise is due to Allah. We praise Him and
seek His help and forgiveness. We seek refuge with Allah from our
souls’ evils and our wrong doings. He whom Allah guides, no one can
misguide; and he whom He misguides, no one can guide.


I bear witness that there is no (true) god except Allah — alone
without any partners. And I bear witness that Muhammad (H) is His
‘abd (servant) and messenger.

Writing a will is a religious obligation on every capable Muslim. It protects against many problems and conflicts that could arise after a person’s death. This obligation is more emphasized in the West: Failing to write a wellfounded will may result in the distribution of one’s estate in discord with the Islamic law, and may lead to losses for some of the rightful inheritors.
