In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Allah, the Exalted, says: \"Tell the believing men to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts. That is purer for them. Indeed, Allah is Acquainted with what they do.\" (Surah An-Nur Lowering the gaze and refraining from looking at inappropriate things is a means to purify the heart from the disease of desires. Purification of the heart leads to modesty and righteousness, which in turn prevents one from indulging in obscenities and immoral acts. Conversely, allowing the gaze to wander inevitably leads to the disease of the heart, characterized by an insatiable pursuit of desires.
